Inspired by Faith Ringgold’s activist posters I studied while abroad in Paris, I developed a dust jacket and interior cover design for Not Straight Not White. The process combined hand-illustrated elements, created with black acrylic paint and Sharpie, that I later scanned and refined digitally. This approach reflects the design traditions of civil rights and gay rights protest art, connecting the book’s themes to its visual identity.
